CHEMICAL PEELS

What are chemical peels?

Chemical peels are topical treatments applied to the skin which contain active ingredients such including alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs), trichloroacetic acid (TCA), phenol, and retinoic acid.

These ingredients break down the bonds between skin cells causing the outer layers to peel away, helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, reduce pigmentation and acne scaring and improve overall skin complexion and tone.

In our clinic we offer superficial chemical peels and medium chemical peels by Neostrada and ZO skin health.

What you need to know

A thorough consultation will occur prior to your treatment to determine the most appropriate type of peel and product to use to address your underlying skin conditions or concerns.

Chemical peels are not painful but do come with aftercare instructions which will be discussed during your consultation to help optimise results and protect your skin during the healing process.

This treatment can be performed all year round but its more favoured during the winter months to avoid sun exposure.

Treatment sessions typically last between 40 to 60 minutes depending on the type of peel being performed.
